About SOS
The Society of Stranders otherwise referred to as SOS is OUR CLUB and its future is in OUR hands! Membership is essential to preserve our history and continue our dance tradition. The SOS board works on our behalf tackling challenges and looking at ways to ensure that our dance never dies. Just like being a member to support your home club, SOS needs our membership to guarantee their success. There are many benefits to membership in the SOS organization and there are many moving parts to make it work. Some of the benefits are:

Membership lasts from January 1 to October 31 for a cost of only $45.

The Carefree Times Magazine which is now online and is known as “The Shagger’s Bible”. It contains information on recent events, activities, upcoming events, local shag clubs, shag merchandise, and other shag related items of interest.

Open and unlimited access (no cover charge) to ALL the participating lounges during the duration of SOS. This covers 10 days during Spring Safari and 10 days during the Fall Migration. Also included is the 3 days during the Mid-Winter Break. The SOS board is currently working with restaurants and shops in NMB to offer a 10% discount to SOS card holders.

The SOS also has a Charitable Foundation, and it uses the power of its membership to make a difference in the lives of people in need. They direct a significant amount of money to this Foundation. The money is then used to support local & national charitable causes. SOS has sought to further extend its support to the needy by partnering with the Hall of Fame Foundation. Together, these two groups will make a significant difference in the lives of many people who need a helping hand.

Your $45.00 will help to keep our dance, music, and culture alive as well as helping those in need.
